I want preferably an eyeshadow/eyeshadow palette that has a nice bright colour like a strong gold or baby blue.
I am considering ordering an eyeshadow palette from the Avon catologue but I know that the colours in the catologue can sometimes be misleading plus expensive, so are there any decent makes of eyeshadow out there that don't cost 拢3 or more each.
Please could you recommend any eyeshadows you have been pleased with. What is the best value for money eyeshadow?
I own a few Avon eyeshadow palettes. They have some great colors to choose from and they generally look the same as in the magazine. The only thing I don't like about them is they don't last as long as I would like. I can use a good eyeshadow base under them and the color will make it until I get home from work (about 8 hours). My favorite that I've used so far is Clinique... It generally lasts all day and they have some great blue colors as well. What is the best value for money eyeshadow?
well i think you should go to boots their 17 range is fab or natural collection were everything is 拢1.99, Good luck x
i find the eyeshowdow moose you can get, its very good!
If you are in the UK try TJ Hughes if there are any stores near you. They often have high end cosmetics at reduced prices! I got a fantastic Revlon quad eyeshadrow with beautiful green colours for 拢1.00! Well worth going for the more expensive brands with eyeshadows as they go on better and tend to last longer- just try to get them at a reduced rate!
well try wal mart they have nice eyeshadows i dont wear those kind i wear mac, estee lauder,or lancome n they work great
boots 17 and 7 range are great value and not bad quality.
The Body Shop has excellent eyeshadows that last. Avon, while they have excellent pallets of color selections, doesn't last as long on your eyelids. You might have to spend a bit more money for the Body Shop eye shadows, but it is worth it in the end cuz they last twice as long!!!!!
I'm not familiar with what is available in the UK so I can't recommend any brands to you...however, I think rather than collections of colors, you should go with SINGLE shades of shadow that you will actually use. They cost more at the time, but you also get more, and you don't pay for colors you won't need. Also, buy the little pots of color, and use your own brush. The brushes that come with the shadow are horrible anyway. Make the investment in a set of higher quality makeup brushes, then when you are buying the actual makeup, you don't have to pay extra for their crappy brush. Another thing is that the better brushes can take more thorough cleaning so they are safer to use on your eyes.
These compacts with 2-3-4 are color coordinated but if you don't use all of them it is wasteful. Most of the brands here in the United States have the same shades available individually, you can pick up one or two that fit your needs and leave it at that.
I would personally rather buy my makeup at a store where I can see what the real color is. Even better is if there is a sanitary way to try the product on your own skin, such as single use samples.
Whatever you decide, I think you are wise to shop for lower cost cosmetics. It all has to be thrown out frequently to keep a fresh supply...that is a safety concern, regardless of brand or price.
For the record I really don't like ';kits'; or ';sets'; of anything at all. You usually end up buying more than you wanted, just to get that one thing that you did want.
Try the Body Shop Shimmer Cubes. I have had a set for years and they look new even if I use them every day. they are 拢14 each but thats a Bargain.
use felt tips, u get like 12 colours for 49p
Boots - Number 7
Just use dimmer switches or candle lighting.

What are some tips of giving your eyeshadow a long healthy life?
LOL! I've read that eyeshadow can last from 1yr-10yrs so how can I do this? I know to keep it cool, out of sunlight/moisture, what other tips are there? I am ordering the 120 color palette and I want it to last. Thanks!!What are some tips of giving your eyeshadow a long healthy life?
powders can last longer than creams naturally because bacteria cannot thrive as well in there.... personally, i wouldn't use a shadow more than 2 yrs old, regardless of how i kept it
tips:
- don't rough you pallette or carry it with u!
------ shadow's break too easy
however, if you ever get any eye infection, you'll have to throw it all outWhat are some tips of giving your eyeshadow a long healthy life?
Just take care not to break any, and if you get a sty or an infection in your eye, it does have to be thrown out. To 'clean' my eyeshadows, I go through every 6 months with a fresh, disposable cotton pad for each cake shadow, and wipe away the top layer.
always use a clean brush so you might want to invest in a couple good eyeshadow brushes I personally MAC and Stila brushes they cost a bit but they last a very long time.c++

What is the best way to apply eyeshadow using two shades?
I use toasted almond foundation, because it goes well with my complexion. I would like to know how to apply two shades of eyeshadow. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow using two shades?
Put the darker shade along the crease of the lid, the lighter color on the main part of the lid, use a blending brush to blend and soften the colors. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow using two shades?
Put the lighter shade on the lid, and put the darker shade in the crease. If you want to try three shades, just put a shimmer shade on top to highlight your brow.
Dark color on the lid... lighter color above.

the darker color nearer to your lids... the lighter one above the darker one... do blend it well.... and add a little light color one at the side.. =)
Use a lighter, kind of shimmery shade all over your eye and then use the darker shade in the fold of your eye and in the outside corner, blend it nicely so that it doesnt look like the strips on a zebra ( hiehie) Its should come out fine though, you can experiment with colour combinations, depending on the colour of your outfit and or the colour of your eyes.
use the medium shade for the entire lid and then use the darker to line the crease and put a little on the outer half of the lid. hope it helps! :-) That is how professionals do it! But they use the lightest color right below the brow. So go for three shades.
as a beauty therpist i can give you great advice but techniqally you need three. a shimmery white or cream for under the arch of your brow. then out of your shades put the lightest one all over the socket and the darkest one coming in from the outter corner to slightly above the socket
For two different colors, they should both have the same tone (not anything like pink and light-blue!) and one should be lighter than the other.
What I usually do is apply the darker shade on the tip of my lid. I then fill the lighter shade above that, just so that it goes to my crease. Blend well with an eye-shadow brush.
I then put eye-liner along my bottom and lower lashes. Finally, I take the darker color of eye-shadow and, using the brush, I dust on the shadow over the eye-liner.
Then I apply two coats of mascara on my top lashes.
Not only does it look great, but you get that sexy smoky-eye look! It looks awesome!
Put the darkest colour on the bottem and lightest on top. It worked for me!

What eyeshadow is the best for bringing out green eyes?
I have very striking dark green eyes, But I find that some eyeshadows make them not appear as striking as they really are.
If I wear black eyeshadow I usually find that brings out my eyes but I want a change, any ideas? What eyeshadow is the best for bringing out green eyes?
gold or bronze are good too. especially if you want a subtle shade.
what about royal blue or royal purple? those are more of an after 6pm shade, and i dont see many ppl wear them during the day. What eyeshadow is the best for bringing out green eyes?
bronze colors and shimmer colors.instead of black try a charcoal black and a silver on the highlight of the lid
Try brown eye shadow with a little bet of green on the end of your eye lid. You might want to add a little purple on the middle
it looks really nice! look at the link. It don't have purple mix in or green but you can play around with these color and make your eyes stand out more!
http://milanicosmetics.com/getthelookeye鈥?/a>
I would suggest golds, browns, and bronzes. If you have unique coloured eyes you don't want to have a colour that is going to compete with that thefore I would go with something alittle less flashy.
Purple makes them pop! Deep blue and light purple can really bring them out!
purple, dark blue, mid blue, turquoise, white, grey, browns, golds... the list goes on. green eyes suit a lot of colours, so experiment and find a combo you like, then stick to it.
The best eyeshadow to wear to bring out those green eyes( i have them too:) is to wear, here are a few colors you might like: gold, purple or plum, brown and redish colors. ooh, don't wear black eyeshadow it will make you look harsh. i mean if it helps sure. ~
Reds or oranges. Complimentary colours.
It's all about color theory. Any color with red undertones will make your green eyes stand out. Now I'm not saying ';Go invest in some red eyeshadow'; Because not many people can pull off pure red eyeshadow without looking like a crack head, haha. But look for things with red undertones in it and those colors will in turn make your green eyes pop! Watch the attatched video if you want to learn more about complimentary colors/ color theory.
purple and white combo
Super light- barely- there orange maybe??
or...
Pink?
Purple!
i would use something shimmery, and purple
people often say purple and white because supposedly its suppoed to bring out the green, but i like to use blues and grays!!!
:)
dark purple with a silver eyeliner would be very pretty i think
dark colors like dark chocolate colors and blacks, also just an off white.

What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
Should I use a brush, the little soft thingy, or my finger to apply eyeshadow to my lids? What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
A brush works wonders; but as a makeup artist at times I use my finger it depends on the look you seek.
Check out the eyes on my website;

brush.. it can make wonders...
dont use your finger, it just looks messy and uneven to be truthful!!
I find that the brush is the best, they dont cost much and you can use it for LOTS of colours, because you can easily take the previous colour out( while with applicater buds(which you called the soft thingy, lol) keeps the colours in and you are forever replacing them!) I find that it gives a proffessional touch, even though they are so easy!!! Brushes make it fast, simple and great looking!!
I hope all goes well!
Tell which one you ended up using??
Elle xo
Use a brush.. it goes on more evenly.
I use a brush because the moisture on your fingers will not let the eyeshadow go on right. It will stick to your fingers and not your eyebrow.
Brush!
brush of course
Use either a brush or the applier that comes in the packet. I use the one the shadow comes with becauses brushes tend to smear.
use a brush if you're going to do the bottom lash line or want to get in small / specific areas.
use the oval shaped applicator for the rest and i would use fingers to blend.

What eyeshadow color would be best with a royal blue formal gown?
The gown is royal blue with sparkles. I have light tan skin with freckles, dark brown eyes and jet black hair. Silver eyeshadow was my first choice but it doesn't look good on me at all. What eyeshadow color would be best with a royal blue formal gown?
Hii;
I think blue eyeshadow is best for YouWhat eyeshadow color would be best with a royal blue formal gown?
a little bit of royal blue in your eyeshadow as well would both look good with your appearance and be nice what with its matching the dress. Or, you could go for the sparkly approach and attempt to match sparkle with sparkle.

I recommend using a shade like Crystalline (light, white, and a little bit shimmery) as a HIGHLIGHTER color. Use a shade like Denim Frost (medium blue) as your MIDTONE. And use a pink or even a purple-ish color as your ACCENT color.
Royal blue is a ';COOL'; color (see below). Use cool eye shadow colors to accentuate your eyes.
Choose your eye colors by matching the eye shadow with your outfit.
COOL colors - With blue undertones. These are colors like blue, green, pink, purple, silver.
WARM colors -With yellow undertones. These are colors like red, yellow, orange, browns, gold.
NEUTRAL colors - These are colors like black, tan, white.
Have fun at your party/dance. Be safe, and don't forget to smile for the pictures!
Sounds like an amazing gown! :)
Since you have dark brown eyes, then choose blue eyeshadow to bring your eyes out. Probably choose one that's either a shade lighter or darker than your dress. Maybe add a touch of sparkle but not too much or you'll look overdone.
Maybe a light - ish black or a dark blue to match the dress.
i would go with royal blue as well for your eye shadow,it would be the perfect match. - however if your not feeling comfortable with that idea, just remember that black matches with just about everything.
You can use a royal blue or maybe a dark blue And finish off with a little black shadow just at the end of your eyes
