Any product suggestions? How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing?
Lots of times the reason that eyeshadow creases can be traced back to one of two reasons: poor application and using too much shadow.

When you're applying eyeshadow, it's always good to relax your eyes. This means that pulling your eyelid taught is a no-no! Use an eyeshadow brush instead of the sponge applicator that comes with many eyeshadows. The sponge app tends to collect and hold onto too much shadow. A brush allows a lighter and less heavy-handed application. Also, if you're applying more than one color, you want to apply the lighter color to the ENTIRE lid, not just the area you want it on. It, in itself will will kind of act like the primer that you put on before you paint a wall. Then apply the darker color. However, make sure that you tap the brush before applying the eyeshadow. This will ensure that you don't apply too much at once and end up with that ';stage makeup'; look.

Also, if your face is oily, try investing in oil blotting papers such as Mary Kay Beauty Blotting Tissues to stay ahead of the oil on your face. Just blot and go!

Now, I generally recommend using a foundation such as a powder, liquid or creme on the entire face. It gives the the shadow and blush something to adhere to and provides a ';finished'; look to your makeup. If you don't wear foundation, the tip above will still work. Just make sure that you wash, tone and moisturize your face before applying makeup. Check out Mary Kay's website for additional tips on applying eye makeup based on your eye shape. How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing?
wear a high quality product like benfit, dior, chanel, or mac you can find all of these brands in macys. these are high quality so they are really good and will not crease..
You really dont have to use an eyeshadow base. It would be best to use your foundation, but in order for it to not smear with the foundation you will have to use a facial cleanser that will kindadryout, but not dryout your pores completely. Before I apply foudnation to my face, i cleanse my face will dial. its an antibacterial soap bar, but it does work. it kinda dries your face more than expected, so before I apply my foundation I use a cream, such as a tad bit of lotion or Corozone 10 (just in case you are allergic to anything you put on before and after it). I apply foundation toward the inner area of the lid... not too much... on to the outer area of the lid. When I apply the eyeshadow. I apply it thicker toward the lashes. Try applying your eyeshadow until you reach the crease of you eye. It helps alot... doesn't show when a crease has been made.
Before you put on the eyeshadow apply some foundation and a little powder. It will keep the eyeshadow from creasing. Hope this helps!
some makeup brands sell eyeshadow base, but i have not used it. i sometimes brush a little loose power on the lid before putting shadow on. that is supposed to help prevent creasing. styli style brand is supposed to be crease proof, but i haven't tried it yet. in addition to powder, i usually just end up running the finger over my lid every couple hours in attempt to blur any crease that may be forming.
Wear an eyeshadow base.
check the links below for beauty tips to:-- * Eyeshadow - Makeup Tips

http://homebeautytips.blogspot.com/2006/鈥?/a>
Luv MAC makeup but best eyeshadow I ever had was Princess Marcella Borgehessa (Not sure of the spelling). Is there anything else I haven't thought of?How can I make my eyeshadow come out bright and vivid?
I'm surprised that the primers you've tried haven't worked for you. But, there are different primers and of course, some might not be as good as others.

I use a primer called ';Spackle'; by Laura Geller. It's actually a 3-way primer kit, with basic spackle, lip spackle and *eye spackle*. It's truly an awesome product and I'm never without it... It's the first product I've ever found that truly maintains-- actually locks in-- your blusher, lip and eye shadow colors. And... the price is reasonable for a 3 product item.

Here's the link to QVC.com:

http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.d鈥?/a>

Lastly, you might try some of the new ';wet/dry'; shadows that are really hot right now. Applying the shadow -wet- really lays down a good color base. It's the only shadow I use now.

Also, keep in mind that when makeup colors fade or don't remain ';true';, it's usually more an issue of our *skin* than a product deficiency. Basically, it's just being absorbed into our pores. Be sure to keep your skin super clean, and go easy on the moisturizer before you apply your makeup! Keep a pack of rice blotting papers (you can find them in the drugstore) in your make up bag for quick touch-ups during the day. That's sure to help.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck to you!How can I make my eyeshadow come out bright and vivid?
You may be using colors that don't go well with your skin tone. Try wetting your eye shadow brush and smoothing on your eyeshadow wet. After it dries, blend. This will give you a stronger thicker coat of shadow and may help with the faded coloring.
okay trust me this will work!!!!! its not expensive and its so easy... i had the same problem as yours....... i had bought a cheap foundation that was too white on me so i decided to use it on my eyelids to make my shadow POP and thats exactly what it did!... so anywho it started running out and i couldnt find that foundation anymore so i decided to buy a new one from a drug store its from Loreal DE-CREASE Eyeshadow Base unfortunatly it wasnt what i hoped it would be it dryed out on my lids and made them look wrinkley.. i did not want to have it go to waste so i experimented with it and finally got the look i was hoping for... b4 you put the shadow base on apply a small amount of NIVEA creme on your lid after that use the wand from your base and use one layer ..not to much .. after that apply your shadow then blend your shadow...make sure u apply the nivea and base on one eye, apply the shadow, and then to the other eye
if you get good quality makeup, like chanel or dior, the pigments are truer, so they show up better. or you could just put more on
Benefit has a nice eyeshadow primer.

Keep using visine (it does help make eyes look whiter)

Try Almay eyeshadow. It doesn't crease, doesn't fade, doesn't irritate. It has a bunch of bold and suttle colors too! Go to Almay.com and take a look!

Also, I heard blushes can be used for eyeshadow too, so maybe if you get a good blush that won't fade it willl work on your eyes too!

Maybe if eyeshadow doesn't work for you, my friend (who has a similar problem to this) uses smudgable eyeliners and blends that over her eyes. Careful though not only is it realllly dramatic, but unless you are used to liner pencils it could tug on your lids.lashawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10809464711369143422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608230262497984536.post-17485662529828708452010-06-23T20:46:00.002-07:002010-06-23T20:46:40.168-07:00What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?i am buying a xmas presant for my niece and she i really into fashion and makeup and i was wonder if she is to old to wear eyeliner and shadow? I wouldn't buy her eyeliner, but maybe a pale eye shadow, a pale lip gloss, a nail varnish and some blush, but it depends on how she dresses, her skin tone, her hair colour and eye colour. if she has pale skin, fair hair and blue or grey eyes, then i would recommend pale pinks and peaches for blush and lips. If she has pale skin, dark hair and blue or green eyes, then light purples and grays would suit her. If she has dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes then olive greens will suit her (but make sure she knows that less is more!). Or if none of these help, then buy her a book called the beauty bible-its is a fantastic book and has helped me a lot with skin care and beauty. I hope I helped and that your niece likes her present.
Honestly, that is a bit too young:

Most will agree between 13-15 yrs old is most appropriate to start wearing a LITTLE makeup. I wore it on special occasions about a year ago though :)

Eyeshadow, of course! I wore it when I was 9! Maybe mascara instead of eyeliner? Or an eyecurler. I think 14 or 15 is a good age to start wearing the works with eye liner, mascara and eye shadow. I'm 16 and didn't start wearing make up until I was 14. How do I blend different colors?I need some pointers, tricks and secrets. How do I blend and create a smokey eye with my eyeshadow?
You can try this link: http://www.beautytips.com/ on how to apply eyeshadow. How do I blend and create a smokey eye with my eyeshadow?
http://www.handbag.com/beauty/tips/john_鈥?/a>

its a great site
Hi! To create a smoky effect, first use either eye liner (liquid or pencil) and then use the eye shadow, a shade lighter than the liner color and smudge the lines made by the liner.... it will create a smoky effect. You can also use a lighter color shadows to create highlights on the eyelids... these days its hot to use pearly shine light colored shadows on the lids. it gives dramatic effect when you blink eyes... you can also use darker shades on inner and outer corners of eyelids and a lighter pearly shade in the centre to create the shine and highlight the centre (can also use the lighter shade on the top of the dark one in centre). it really looks good... try them at home first... after 3-4 times, you will get better with it... all the best!!!
Ditch the eyeshadow for a smokey eye look -- you need eyeliner.

Buy a dark brown, smudgey eyeliner that will blend at the touch...apply a thick line to your upper lid, on and over your eyelashes, bringing the outer edge into a half-cat's-eye (a small triangle at the outer corner).

Do the bottom ON the lash line, not under it. Apply thickly here too, and meet the triangle at the outer edge.

Use your middle finger, and smudge the liner on your TOP eyelid back and forth - don't worry about being too even here, or you'll end up with it looking odd and too symetrical. For your BOTTOM lid, use your still-clean index (first) finger, and smudge from the inside corner to the out, as many times as it takes.

Starting here, you'll have a smokey base for your shadows, which you can then apply as you normally would. This will give you the smokey eye you want.
Smoke Cigars.
Eyeshadow looks hot when you create the right contours. Try lining your upper eye with an eyeshadow brush - brown is always a good colour. direct alot of colour to the outer eyelid, it creates depth, and makes your eyes look bigger. using the other side of the brush, brush the shadow upwards and out.
First, practice with colored pencils on a piece of paper. practice shading the colors together. then take your eye shadows and practice on your hand. once you've got it down, practice on your eyes when you don't have a place to go.
A smokey eye is created by blending your midtone crease color with your final accent color.

1. If medium or fair skin - apply a light base color from the brow bone down to the eye lash. A crystalline or white sand - even spun silk - anything in that family.

2. Midtone color - all color is applied from the OUTSIDE corner of the eye - in toward the nose. The most color goes on the outside, and less as you go in toward the nose. This creates a gradiant effect. Darker to lighter. Sweep the color - a mid color - into the crease of the eye and along the lashline. This will create an arrow effect on the eye %26gt; .

3. Blend from the crease down and go slightly above the crease...creating a smooth look.

4. Add your final accent color. This is a dark color - black, brown, green. Apply a dot in the outside corner of the eye - then take your blending brush and sweep in toward the nose. This will create a smokey eye.

You may visit my website and click on eyes to learn more make-up application tips.

Hope this helped! I would not say there is a set age when you should start wearing makeup; some girls never wear makeup.

I would say the right age is when you and your parents feel comfortable with it.

Eyeliner hasn't been shown to cause wrinkles to the best of my knowledge. It can do damage if you share eyeliner with other girls or keep it for too long. They hold on to bacteria and can cause eye infections or irritation.

Just don't share your eye makeup and make sure you wash it off thoroughly every night.
It doesn't matter how old you are, you can wear eyeliner and eyeshadow any time. If you use proper make up remover, then it can get it all off really well. They do little bottles of non-perfumed make up remover in places like Boots, so you could wear the make up and make sure you take care of your eyes as well by using the remover. You'll make your eyes beautiful!!
well tbh you shouldnt really wear makeup till your like 18, but saying that i started wearing it when i was about 13 because of personal problems like acne and pores. but lots of my friends have perfect skin, but they still cover up with foundation which i think isnt right, but it is there choice. and as far as wrinkles and damaged eyes, your gunna get that in later life anyway and tbh i dont think wearing sensible amounts of makeup will increase the chance.just remember so remove the makeup gently every night with a cotton pad and keep your skin clean and moisturised :D , just dont over do it on the makeup hun:) xxxxx
Well, Im 14 and I started wearing my face of makeup (Foundation, bronzer/blusher, eyeliner, mascarra and pressed powder) when I was about 13. And most of that was for school aswell and to be honest my skin is actually fine =] But just wear what you feel comfortable in, and just because your friends might wear a lot doesn't mean you have to, im sure your pretty without the makeup convering your face =] .. Much love x
I never really started wearing makeup until highschool (14-15 years old) but if you're planning on wearing only a bit I guess it doesn't matter too much. Remember too much makeup isn't sexy! I'm not sure if it will damage your skin or not..I have worn foundation, eyeliner and mascara everyday now for nearly 2 years and I do not think there are many changes in my skin. But, natural-based makeup is always better for you. Make sure it is oil free too cuz that will clog your pores
well i would say about 15 but if you are going to wear it every day change your eyeshadow and mascara every month either that or you are more likely to get an eye infection wash your eyeshadow brush every week sharpen your liner every week it will remove bacteria

first sign of an eye infection bin the lot don't wear any make up for two weeks or you risk reinfecting yourself then buy some new stuff
i'd say 13 cos thats when you become a teen

but to be honest, you can start whenever you want, like if you feel more secure wearing it than go for it

xx
I wasn't allowed to wear eyeliner until I was 16. Also dark colours work well, just make sure you do not apply too much or colours that are too dark because they can overpower your eyebrows and it just looks tacky :X. Also, if your eyebrows are light or patchy consider getting a product to fill them in and darken them, nothing adds to a face (specifically eyes) like nice eyebrows. If your eyebrows are thick then get them waxed at a salon. Well hope I helped, I'm new to using eyeliner hehe but know the basics.
hi there!!!!

the most important thing to consider when you're applying make-up is the skin tone...

you have a light skin, do have medium brown hair with blonde highlights...

what i am doing with that cases is that since you have dark blue eyes, you can combine a little touch of black liner outside the bottom eyelids with dominant brown liner inside the bottom eyelids....

you can put some blue and black liner at the top eyelids, it can be full closed set to make your eyes look poped...

in terms of putting eyeshadows, you can have earth colors such as dark brown, beige or bronze....

if you put too much light eyeshadows, you would look awkward....

hope that i could see your face contour so that i could really help you....
almay makes this GREAT eye set for different colored eyes. i LOVE it. it makes my blue eyes stand out and just look really nice. it's 3 separate things to buy. blue mascara. brown eyeliner. and a set of 3 shadows, brown, dark blue, light blue. the instructions r right on the box. however i switched it up a little and played around with it and this is how i think it works best. use black liner and black mascara. also apply brown eye shadow first over eyelid. then blend in dark blue and finish with blending a LITTLE light blue but not too much. ppl always compliment my eyes when i do them like that. good luck! messing around with things worked really well for me!lashawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10809464711369143422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608230262497984536.post-14760498821562393032010-06-23T20:45:00.000-07:002010-06-23T20:45:03.100-07:00What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?I'm just looking for a good color to go with my green eyes. Some colors look horrible and I thought I just see what other people have to say! What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?
Deep toffee colors can look nice, but purple will make your eyes pop. Try a light brown (like a sand color) from crease to brow; cover your lid in a medium purple (about the color of an iris when it blooms), then just in the crease apply a dark purple lightly. Line with a toffee or purple eyeliner (a raisin color would work). And don't forget to curl your lashes, so people can see your peepers! What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?
go whith somthing todaly opeset like brown so peaple see your eyes not your shadow
Faded shades of brown and tan could really make your green eyes stand out if you apply it right. Also if you go to the cosmetics isle most of the time they will have eyeshadow combinations designed just for people w/ green eyes.
Light brown
Been experimenting with makeup for 20 years, green eyes can pretty much be complimented by any color, just don't go overboard with the colors, but for the most part, if you wear green shadows, your eyes can look more blue and if you wear a blue, your green eyes'll pop!! Basic browns compliment most skin tones and that's probably where your problem lies... try to compliment your skin instead of your eyes and you'll solve your problem... Light skin, stick with browns... dark skin, add the purples and pinks...
I have green eyes and I have found that any shade of burgundy looks good as well as a brown/purple combination. :o)
i wear browns and smokey greys it makes the green stand out
green, brown, cream, beige. just test out a lot of colors. you can samples from Mary Kay consultants. I have all kinds of make-up. I recently bought eyeshadow with blacks, silvers and pearly white colors...I've seen a lot of girls do their eyes with those colors...but I can't! Any tips? How do you apply eyeshadow like strippers and adult movie stars?
Using bright colors with a dark color is an awesome way to get that sexy look. You are going to need basically three shades: A cream/white, a dark color/black, and a pop color/yellow or pink. Apply the lightest shade under your eyebrow and the darkest in your crease and the pop color right on the lid. Blend well. Line your eyes on top and bottom and even add false lashes for sexy volume. Finish with a glossy lip and bam HOT MAMA?Stripper?Adult Star? LOLHow do you apply eyeshadow like strippers and adult movie stars?
Try liquid eyeliner, that might give you the look you want. Also try applying a white or other pale shade of eyeshadow first then the color you want over it. It usually makes the color ';pop'; a little more.

You can also try buying lotion that is made to go around your eyes and mixing it with the eyeshadow, making a sort of paste. Be careful not to get it in your eye, and this probably wouldn't be recommended if you think you might sweat it off.
using a liquid liner u can cause a lot of dramatic effects..also use the smokey eye technique. it shard to describe typing so jus check youtube there r some great videos on how to create that look. for eye shadow u can play around and make sure u r smudging/mixing the colors where they meet. i like true colors cause u can make them light dark whateva..also applying them with like a gloss helps them stay longer.
Use the dark color shadow on the lid all the way up to the crease. Then use the lighter color just above the crease or up to the brow bone. Smudge the 2 colors accordingly, watching NOT to smudge the dark color all the way up to the brow bone.
make the crease of your lids extremely dark and wing out ur eyeliner. smug ur under eye eyeliner for that messy sext look
Well first of all no offense but y do u want to look like a stripper? but anyway you use darks and just mess it all up!!!lashawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10809464711369143422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608230262497984536.post-86188985584661590502010-06-23T20:44:00.000-07:002010-06-23T20:44:15.452-07:00What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?I like to use a wet eyeliner brush and apply eyeshadow as a liner, but i want a new shade for fall. i use medium brown or dark brown liner shades. What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?
check out bare minerals liner shadows, the can be used wet or dry, and come in fabulous colors.. regular eye shadows smudge too much. What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?
Well..that kind of depends on your eye colour.

I like to use really strong stand-outish colours because I have dark brown eyes and it makes a good contrast. Using them as liners also makes the eyeshadow stand out less than using it for all over lid cover, but it still draws attention.
Stargazer eyeshadow, you can get it from alternative shops (e.g. Affleck's Palace) and cheaper cosmetic shops/market stalls. It comes in a powder but when applied with a wet brush, it comes out great. It's quite sparkly though, so be warned! Then you can also dust it over your eye too :-)
you will be surprised but try the eyeshadow mousse by loreal. they have cute colors and they are already wet textured so I use a very small brush, very thin. It works perfect dont hesitate to try the bright purple. I have light brown eyes and yet a purple line under the eye(very thin!) and a pink line on the edge on the eyelid looks soo pretty!(add a brink fushia pink line on the inner part of the eye) I think it goes well with every eye color. Okay, now for the stunning ! :) what looks awesome especially on brown, or green eyes, is a line of gold . That looks very good, make sure you pick one that doesn't look yellow. And then you can do a brown inner line.
It is depending of you eyebrow and your hair colour.Anyway you can try in black (liquid)-water proof)brand-KATE(Japan)it is very nice.it can make your draw Clean and profession.Apply in green eyeshadow under you eye line, and apply a KATE-black liner too.it will look great!
Use Stargazer eyeshadowlashawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10809464711369143422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608230262497984536.post-21095234859218534462010-06-23T20:43:00.002-07:002010-06-23T20:43:43.901-07:00What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?I just used up my eyelid primer for eyeshadow. I thought those might work. What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?
Use your liquid foundation and set it with pressed powder then apply your eyeshadow. It should last all day without creasing. Also if you have aerosol hairspray you can give your face a quick blast (eyes closed of course) and this will set your makeup (especially useful in hot weather). Happy holidays :)What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?
i just do it with my concealer when i'm doing the rest of my face.
Foundation topped with a bit of powder will suffice until you get some more eyeshadow primer.
I used to use like a clear lip balm put some on my finger %26amp; use that then put on my eye shadow it works. But I don't wear make up alot any more
mix concealer with foundation and set with powder!lashawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10809464711369143422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608230262497984536.post-20165069739072396302010-06-23T20:43:00.001-07:002010-06-23T20:43:27.487-07:00What is the best eyeshadow color for a black and turquoise dress?I am wearing a black dress with turquoise dots and I am wondering what eyeshadow color will look best if I have very fair skin, hazel eyes, and light brown hair. Thanks for any answers! What is the best eyeshadow color for a black and turquoise dress?
Your shadow should match your complexion, not your dress. Hazel eyes look great in golds, browns, and olive shades. For bold funky looks, you can choose silver, turquoise and fuchsia colors. Brown, apricot, purple, plum and forest green colors brighten up green and hazel eyes while you can add a touch of boldness to the face by experimenting with gold, lime-green, very light green and bright purple shades. Copper, bronze, champagne, beige and forest-green looks good on brown eyes while brown eyeshadow helps to create a doe-eyed look. Colors like tangerine, royal blue, hot pink and lime-green add a punch to the personality and are quite favorite with younger generation. Experiment!

Good luck!!What color eyeliner and eyeshadow goes best with greenish/brown eyes?
Hey! I have the similar eye colour to yours, it's funny sometimes they look really green, and other times they look really brown depending on what I wear...

I usually use brown eyeshadow as eyeliner because it's not as dramatic... i use brown eyeliner too sometimes if im going out. I light pink eyeshadow. Believe it or not it looks pretty good if it is shimmery, and really well blended, it makes your eyes look more brown if you use pink and brown together. It makes my eyes look more green if i stay away from the brown eyeliner, and just use mascara and some olive green eyeshadow. I don't do that as often, since my main eye colour is brown. I like the look of a little brown eyeshadow for liner, and then some pink eyeshadow and a lot of mascara myself.

good luck!

xo!
i like the effect black has with pale skin.....but if you don't want it, try this....

http://www.wikihow.com/Apply-Eyeliner
brown brown brown.
