What is the cheapest overall eyeshadow brush I can find?

I would like something that is pretty good quality, but still cheap. I just need one brush that can apply eyeshadow well. I don't want to buy multiple brushes, so one that can do it all.

Also, if you know of any cheap eye primers that work well, let me know. What is the cheapest overall eyeshadow brush I can find?
For the brushes, you can get one at Sally Beauty Supply or Jessesgirlcosmetics.com

and for the eye primer, you can get it at target or walmart

NYX is pretty good for cheap makeup. Their eyeshadows have been compared to MAC's. I've used them before and the pigments are pretty good and true to the color in the container. I think they sell for .99 and up. You should really try it.
use this link its really cheap and good quality u can read the reviews

Go to Sally Beauty. My most all purpose and cheap but still good brushes came from there.

How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing?

How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing? Any product suggestions? How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing?
Lots of times the reason that eyeshadow creases can be traced back to one of two reasons: poor application and using too much shadow.

When you're applying eyeshadow, it's always good to relax your eyes. This means that pulling your eyelid taught is a no-no! Use an eyeshadow brush instead of the sponge applicator that comes with many eyeshadows. The sponge app tends to collect and hold onto too much shadow. A brush allows a lighter and less heavy-handed application. Also, if you're applying more than one color, you want to apply the lighter color to the ENTIRE lid, not just the area you want it on. It, in itself will will kind of act like the primer that you put on before you paint a wall. Then apply the darker color. However, make sure that you tap the brush before applying the eyeshadow. This will ensure that you don't apply too much at once and end up with that ';stage makeup'; look.

Also, if your face is oily, try investing in oil blotting papers such as Mary Kay Beauty Blotting Tissues to stay ahead of the oil on your face. Just blot and go!

Now, I generally recommend using a foundation such as a powder, liquid or creme on the entire face. It gives the the shadow and blush something to adhere to and provides a ';finished'; look to your makeup. If you don't wear foundation, the tip above will still work. Just make sure that you wash, tone and moisturize your face before applying makeup. Check out Mary Kay's website for additional tips on applying eye makeup based on your eye shape. How do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing?
wear a high quality product like benfit, dior, chanel, or mac you can find all of these brands in macys. these are high quality so they are really good and will not crease..
You really dont have to use an eyeshadow base. It would be best to use your foundation, but in order for it to not smear with the foundation you will have to use a facial cleanser that will kindadryout, but not dryout your pores completely. Before I apply foudnation to my face, i cleanse my face will dial. its an antibacterial soap bar, but it does work. it kinda dries your face more than expected, so before I apply my foundation I use a cream, such as a tad bit of lotion or Corozone 10 (just in case you are allergic to anything you put on before and after it). I apply foundation toward the inner area of the lid... not too much... on to the outer area of the lid. When I apply the eyeshadow. I apply it thicker toward the lashes. Try applying your eyeshadow until you reach the crease of you eye. It helps alot... doesn't show when a crease has been made.
Before you put on the eyeshadow apply some foundation and a little powder. It will keep the eyeshadow from creasing. Hope this helps!
some makeup brands sell eyeshadow base, but i have not used it. i sometimes brush a little loose power on the lid before putting shadow on. that is supposed to help prevent creasing. styli style brand is supposed to be crease proof, but i haven't tried it yet. in addition to powder, i usually just end up running the finger over my lid every couple hours in attempt to blur any crease that may be forming.
Wear an eyeshadow base.

Luv MAC makeup but best eyeshadow I ever had was Princess Marcella Borgehessa (Not sure of the spelling). High end departmebt stores carry it.
Don't waste money on an eyeshadow base...

Just apply foundation to your eyelids. It creates a surface for the eyeshadow to adhere to, the same as an eyeshadow base, but without the cost.

What is a good crease eyeshadow color to use with silver lid color?

i normally use the 3 color eyeshadow with base crease and highlight but i use browns and naturals...i want to use silver as my lid color now but im not sure what i should use as the crease and brow bone color that will compliment the silver? What is a good crease eyeshadow color to use with silver lid color?
blackWhat is a good crease eyeshadow color to use with silver lid color?
certainly clack as anyone would have guessed for crease and silverish pearl for browbone

if you want something artistic i would say any sort of bold color for crease would look great.. and pearl on brow bone and a dot in the inner corner of your eyes would look amazing, match it with you're jewellery
black

fo sho

i use this whitish shimmery kind on my lid then black for the crease

it kinda blends a little so sometimes it will look like a silver

it looks good.
i think a dark purple or teal would look good. it give the eye a good balance and some color.
graphite grey or black. use a very very light shimmery pink on the brow bone for an instant eye lift.
Try Gunmetal grey.

Dark grey or black.

  • How can I make my eyeshadow come out bright and vivid?

I've tried everything....MAC paints underneath, MAC mixing medium, Visine, white eye pencil on lid, Urban Decay Potion Primer, etc. Nothing gives me that true to life color like I see some other girls get. Is there anything else I haven't thought of?How can I make my eyeshadow come out bright and vivid?
I'm surprised that the primers you've tried haven't worked for you. But, there are different primers and of course, some might not be as good as others.

I use a primer called ';Spackle'; by Laura Geller. It's actually a 3-way primer kit, with basic spackle, lip spackle and *eye spackle*. It's truly an awesome product and I'm never without it... It's the first product I've ever found that truly maintains-- actually locks in-- your blusher, lip and eye shadow colors. And... the price is reasonable for a 3 product item.

    Here's the link to QVC.com:

Lastly, you might try some of the new ';wet/dry'; shadows that are really hot right now. Applying the shadow -wet- really lays down a good color base. It's the only shadow I use now.

Also, keep in mind that when makeup colors fade or don't remain ';true';, it's usually more an issue of our *skin* than a product deficiency. Basically, it's just being absorbed into our pores. Be sure to keep your skin super clean, and go easy on the moisturizer before you apply your makeup! Keep a pack of rice blotting papers (you can find them in the drugstore) in your make up bag for quick touch-ups during the day. That's sure to help.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck to you!How can I make my eyeshadow come out bright and vivid?
You may be using colors that don't go well with your skin tone. Try wetting your eye shadow brush and smoothing on your eyeshadow wet. After it dries, blend. This will give you a stronger thicker coat of shadow and may help with the faded coloring.
okay trust me this will work!!!!! its not expensive and its so easy... i had the same problem as yours....... i had bought a cheap foundation that was too white on me so i decided to use it on my eyelids to make my shadow POP and thats exactly what it did!... so anywho it started running out and i couldnt find that foundation anymore so i decided to buy a new one from a drug store its from Loreal DE-CREASE Eyeshadow Base unfortunatly it wasnt what i hoped it would be it dryed out on my lids and made them look wrinkley.. i did not want to have it go to waste so i experimented with it and finally got the look i was hoping for... b4 you put the shadow base on apply a small amount of NIVEA creme on your lid after that use the wand from your base and use one layer ..not to much .. after that apply your shadow then blend your shadow...make sure u apply the nivea and base on one eye, apply the shadow, and then to the other eye
if you get good quality makeup, like chanel or dior, the pigments are truer, so they show up better. or you could just put more on
Benefit has a nice eyeshadow primer.

Keep using visine (it does help make eyes look whiter)

Try Almay eyeshadow. It doesn't crease, doesn't fade, doesn't irritate. It has a bunch of bold and suttle colors too! Go to Almay.com and take a look!

Also, I heard blushes can be used for eyeshadow too, so maybe if you get a good blush that won't fade it willl work on your eyes too!

Maybe if eyeshadow doesn't work for you, my friend (who has a similar problem to this) uses smudgable eyeliners and blends that over her eyes. Careful though not only is it realllly dramatic, but unless you are used to liner pencils it could tug on your lids.

What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?

i am buying a xmas presant for my niece and she i really into fashion and makeup and i was wonder if she is to old to wear eyeliner and shadow? (she is 11)What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?
13 is preferable. but use of eyeliner and shadow in small amount doesn't harm the skin as children get won recovery very easily.

bt advice her not to use them always. What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?
I would ask her mum first. I wouldn't buy her eyeliner, but maybe a pale eye shadow, a pale lip gloss, a nail varnish and some blush, but it depends on how she dresses, her skin tone, her hair colour and eye colour. if she has pale skin, fair hair and blue or grey eyes, then i would recommend pale pinks and peaches for blush and lips. If she has pale skin, dark hair and blue or green eyes, then light purples and grays would suit her. If she has dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes then olive greens will suit her (but make sure she knows that less is more!). Or if none of these help, then buy her a book called the beauty bible-its is a fantastic book and has helped me a lot with skin care and beauty. I hope I helped and that your niece likes her present.
Honestly, that is a bit too young:

Most will agree between 13-15 yrs old is most appropriate to start wearing a LITTLE makeup. Personally, I didn't start wearing eyeliner/shadow til I was almost 16 years old.

Nowadays, girls are being told to grow up faster by the media %26amp; their peers. Thats too bad though, because it sexualizes them in a way %26amp; makes them appear older, %26amp; way too soon.

If they start at 11, they will fell more self-consience %26amp; grow up too soon!! Let her enjoy being a kid, childhood goes by so quickly. :]

My adive for gift ideas would be a gift card to her fav store, or something else you know she'd like. Best of luck %26amp; Happy Holidays.
Eyeliner, no. Im 13 and only started wearing it for shopping, going to a friends house etc a few months ago! I wore it on special occasions about a year ago though :)

Eyeshadow, of course! I wore it when I was 9! Maybe mascara instead of eyeliner? Or an eyecurler. If shes wanting an eyeliner look, get the new Bourjois liner effect. Its really good and I have it ^^
I was allowed to wear makeup when I was 11.

I wish my mother had stopped me.

I think mascara and blush, and maybe a glittery/shimmery pale shadow should be enough for someone in Middle School. Don't give her anything that she could possible overdo, or that would give her mother a heart attack.
ok if you buy an 11yr old make up teach her how to put it on and when to much is to much things like that, personally i dont think 11yr olds should be wearing make up but if its something you want to get her than do it but teach her how to put it on so she looks pretty and not trashy, itll give her confidence and self esteeme !

    good luck
its always a good rule of thumb to check with her parents first to avoid her opening up the gift getting all excited then getting it taken away by her mother later. i cant tell you how many times that's happened to me years back! so if her mom says no then Look into buying her hair care products or a gift card to icing or Clair's.
Yeah, i think its a little young, i think i was about 7th grade tho. Also though its really not too young, because its not like its mascara and foundation. haha its just a little shadow and liner, so as long as it's ok w/ her mom and she doesn't wear A TON then i think it'll b a great gift
woah! 11 is too young, the youngest would at least be 13. and you may want to teach her how to apply it correctly, not too much or people will get ';the wrong idea'; and i'm sure that you know what i mean by that. That ';wrong idea'; will especially apply if you get her into makeup too young.
Yeah, I think 11 or 12 is a decent age, as long as she knows how to put the eyeliner on ok and not look like a raccoon.

I agree with mizzgiina too, I always liked glittery nail polish and fruity chapstick or lipgloss (lipsmackers) when I was that age.
I think 11 or 12 is fine if you only wear a very little. I think 14 or 15 is a good age to start wearing the works with eye liner, mascara and eye shadow. I'm 16 and didn't start wearing make up until I was 14. Maybe you should ask her parents first and see if it's ok.
my female cousins, and one of my younger male cousins that they tended to always use as a guinea pig started with clown like amounts of makeup and glitter at age 9 , age 9 and 12 respectively.

they had a lot of fun, and it was really funny to watch.
I think many girls that age do wear makeup, but I'm not sure they should! You should definitely ask her mom before you buy it for her. For an 11-year-old some fruity lip gloss or nail polish might be more appropriate than eyeliner and eyeshadow, or maybe some fancy bath products.
thats is pretty young. I would call her mom and check with her first. But i would say when she is 13 eyeliner would be appropriate. eyeshadow probably can be given at the age of 11, but no majorly strong or colorful or expensive makeup would be appropriate. :)
She is too young for makeup she is still a child,If you want to get her lip gloss fine but not eye or face makeup.not till 13 and then only mascarra and eye shadow if taught how to do it.
I think it depends on the parents, although my personal opinion is 15, but kids today are growing up so fast.. I would suggest asking her mom or dad if she's allowed to wear make-up before you buy anything she's not allowed to use
    she is kind of young.

you should check with her parents.

or you could get her makeup to play with.

i had that when i was younger i would give my friends makeovers.

hahah. i bet that she would like that.
she is waaaay too young to wear that! at 13 girls should start wearing light makeup like lip gloss, coverup and maybe mascara but eyeliner shouldnt be worn until 14 or 15. ur niece would look like a trashy little tart with eyeliner on. dont get it.
I Think That This Is Definatly Old Enough, Most Children Start Wearing Makeup When They Start Secondary School So This Is Around This Age, Hope This Helps x
11? wow. Kids wear make up at a very young age. When I was in high school, I didn't start wearing make up until i was 14 and when i was 14 i only wore it occasionally.
You should ask here mom before you get her makeup.

I am 14 and I am only allowed to wear mascara and lipgloss!

You can always get her lipgloss, it is the best way to go :)
i say they need to be at least 13. but of course my stepdaughters (11 year old) mother thinks different. it looks trashy on her and i hate it. my husband and i fight about it all the time
That's about the age that they start(probably a little older) but it really depends on their maturity level. I would recommend waiting another year or two personally.
Check with mom, but community standards are different from place to place.

Mine was allowed to wear it at 11 but actually wears LESS now at 13 and applies it better, too.

    Practice makes perfect?
Well i started wearing makeup when i was 12.

But eyeshadow is pretty much an all ages thing.

Eyeliner is a little more like 12 yrs old.
I think eighth grade or ninth grade is when kids should start. If you start to early, everyone will start so they don't feel left out, and the age will just keep getting younger.
    eyeshadow yes

    eyeliner......no

kids start wearin eyeliner too young and then cant leave the house without it forever

    its crazy

im 16 i think 11 is too young even tho i wore make up at that age!

    i think 13!
I would ask her mother first since they are the ones that would let her or not. I think that 11 is way too young. I think around 14 years old and older is much better.
she's not too old to wear eyeliner but maybe a little too young. its best to check with the parents. if they are ok with it then ok.
I don't' think that you should buy her eyeliner and other makeup, buy her belts or bracelets. Waring makeup will effect her skin!
14 is average. 11 is to young in our eyes but for kids these days who knows, just ask the mom if its ok.

How do I blend and create a smokey eye with my eyeshadow?

I have lots of eyeshadow but I don't know what to do with them. How would I create the smokey eye? How do I blend different colors?I need some pointers, tricks and secrets. How do I blend and create a smokey eye with my eyeshadow?
You can try this link: http://www.beautytips.com/ on how to apply eyeshadow. How do I blend and create a smokey eye with my eyeshadow?
    http://www.handbag.com/beauty/tips/john_鈥?/a>

    its a great site
Hi! To create a smoky effect, first use either eye liner (liquid or pencil) and then use the eye shadow, a shade lighter than the liner color and smudge the lines made by the liner.... it will create a smoky effect. You can also use a lighter color shadows to create highlights on the eyelids... these days its hot to use pearly shine light colored shadows on the lids. it gives dramatic effect when you blink eyes... you can also use darker shades on inner and outer corners of eyelids and a lighter pearly shade in the centre to create the shine and highlight the centre (can also use the lighter shade on the top of the dark one in centre). it really looks good... try them at home first... after 3-4 times, you will get better with it... all the best!!!
Ditch the eyeshadow for a smokey eye look -- you need eyeliner.

Buy a dark brown, smudgey eyeliner that will blend at the touch...apply a thick line to your upper lid, on and over your eyelashes, bringing the outer edge into a half-cat's-eye (a small triangle at the outer corner).

Do the bottom ON the lash line, not under it. Apply thickly here too, and meet the triangle at the outer edge.

Use your middle finger, and smudge the liner on your TOP eyelid back and forth - don't worry about being too even here, or you'll end up with it looking odd and too symetrical. For your BOTTOM lid, use your still-clean index (first) finger, and smudge from the inside corner to the out, as many times as it takes.

Starting here, you'll have a smokey base for your shadows, which you can then apply as you normally would. This will give you the smokey eye you want.
    Smoke Cigars.
Eyeshadow looks hot when you create the right contours. Try lining your upper eye with an eyeshadow brush - brown is always a good colour. direct alot of colour to the outer eyelid, it creates depth, and makes your eyes look bigger. using the other side of the brush, brush the shadow upwards and out.
First, practice with colored pencils on a piece of paper. practice shading the colors together. then take your eye shadows and practice on your hand. once you've got it down, practice on your eyes when you don't have a place to go.
A smokey eye is created by blending your midtone crease color with your final accent color.

    1. If medium or fair skin - apply a light base color from the brow bone down to the eye lash. A crystalline or white sand - even spun silk - anything in that family.

    2. Midtone color - all color is applied from the OUTSIDE corner of the eye - in toward the nose. The most color goes on the outside, and less as you go in toward the nose. This creates a gradiant effect. Darker to lighter. Sweep the color - a mid color - into the crease of the eye and along the lashline. This will create an arrow effect on the eye %26gt; .

    3. Blend from the crease down and go slightly above the crease...creating a smooth look.

    4. Add your final accent color. This is a dark color - black, brown, green. Apply a dot in the outside corner of the eye - then take your blending brush and sweep in toward the nose. This will create a smokey eye.

How old should I be before I start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow everyday?

Well not everyday, but for when I go out and to school. How old should I be before I start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow everyday?
Well, if you are a minor make sure your parents are cool with it first. If so, don't put a ton on. It just looks bad. Learn to do it right. You can go to a mall and have one of the people in the department stores show you. Being a mom of 4 teenagers, I really let them decide but I keep it under control. No dark purple eye shadow with thick, black eye liner and mascara, no dark red lipstick. You get it I think. It just looks trashy. Try to look as natural as possible. It looks pretty that way.

I think Elementary school is way too young though. How old should I be before I start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow everyday?
I started wearing eyeliner when I was 11 or 12 with my mom's permission. I would not say there is a set age when you should start wearing makeup; some girls never wear makeup.

I would say the right age is when you and your parents feel comfortable with it.

Eyeliner hasn't been shown to cause wrinkles to the best of my knowledge. It can do damage if you share eyeliner with other girls or keep it for too long. They hold on to bacteria and can cause eye infections or irritation.

Just don't share your eye makeup and make sure you wash it off thoroughly every night.
It doesn't matter how old you are, you can wear eyeliner and eyeshadow any time. If you use proper make up remover, then it can get it all off really well. They do little bottles of non-perfumed make up remover in places like Boots, so you could wear the make up and make sure you take care of your eyes as well by using the remover. You'll make your eyes beautiful!!
well tbh you shouldnt really wear makeup till your like 18, but saying that i started wearing it when i was about 13 because of personal problems like acne and pores. but lots of my friends have perfect skin, but they still cover up with foundation which i think isnt right, but it is there choice. and as far as wrinkles and damaged eyes, your gunna get that in later life anyway and tbh i dont think wearing sensible amounts of makeup will increase the chance.just remember so remove the makeup gently every night with a cotton pad and keep your skin clean and moisturised :D , just dont over do it on the makeup hun:) xxxxx
Well, Im 14 and I started wearing my face of makeup (Foundation, bronzer/blusher, eyeliner, mascarra and pressed powder) when I was about 13. And most of that was for school aswell and to be honest my skin is actually fine =] But just wear what you feel comfortable in, and just because your friends might wear a lot doesn't mean you have to, im sure your pretty without the makeup convering your face =] .. Much love x
I never really started wearing makeup until highschool (14-15 years old) but if you're planning on wearing only a bit I guess it doesn't matter too much. Remember too much makeup isn't sexy! I'm not sure if it will damage your skin or not..I have worn foundation, eyeliner and mascara everyday now for nearly 2 years and I do not think there are many changes in my skin. But, natural-based makeup is always better for you. Make sure it is oil free too cuz that will clog your pores
well i would say about 15 but if you are going to wear it every day change your eyeshadow and mascara every month either that or you are more likely to get an eye infection wash your eyeshadow brush every week sharpen your liner every week it will remove bacteria

first sign of an eye infection bin the lot don't wear any make up for two weeks or you risk reinfecting yourself then buy some new stuff
i'd say 13 cos thats when you become a teen

but to be honest, you can start whenever you want, like if you feel more secure wearing it than go for it

    xx
I wasn't allowed to wear eyeliner until I was 16. But I was allowed to wear very light eyeshadow (light pink, beige, lavender, etc) when I was 13 or so.

It's not really up to us, you know. It will depend on what your parents say.
no i wear eyeliner every day it's fine just when ur taking it off be really genital and don't rub and pull the skin or it will go saggy i think it is fine to wear make up especially if u feel more comfortable with it on :)
i was 15-16 , i never wore make up for school u dont need 2 wear it at all ur 13 an if you wear it everyday, when u do have a special occasion you wont look no different =)
Well i think you can at any age, just not to much.

I think the age is good around 12 or 13
Whenever you like, but remember, most of the time, less is more :)
any age :) depends what type of person you are..i started wearing like eyeliner when i was about 11 or 12:)
make sure u wash it ....probly even on the water line and eyelash line %26gt;%26lt; or it gets infcted if it does throw away the makeup u used get eye ointment and dont wear make-up until it clears TOTALLY!!! wtf i went onto somert else u can be any age lol

  • What are the best eyeshadow/liner combinations for dark blue eyes?

I have light skin (I'm starting to get a little tan) and medium brown hair with blonde highlights.

What colors would really make my eyes pop and brighten them? What are the best eyeshadow/liner combinations for dark blue eyes?
Warm tones of browns, caramels and taupes really enhance blue eyes. What are the best eyeshadow/liner combinations for dark blue eyes?
Hmm can't say much about specific colours but to pop your eyes out and brighten them you need to use contrasting colours on your eyes so they stand out. Also dark colours work well, just make sure you do not apply too much or colours that are too dark because they can overpower your eyebrows and it just looks tacky :X. Also, if your eyebrows are light or patchy consider getting a product to fill them in and darken them, nothing adds to a face (specifically eyes) like nice eyebrows. If your eyebrows are thick then get them waxed at a salon. Well hope I helped, I'm new to using eyeliner hehe but know the basics.
    hi there!!!!

the most important thing to consider when you're applying make-up is the skin tone...

you have a light skin, do have medium brown hair with blonde highlights...

what i am doing with that cases is that since you have dark blue eyes, you can combine a little touch of black liner outside the bottom eyelids with dominant brown liner inside the bottom eyelids....

you can put some blue and black liner at the top eyelids, it can be full closed set to make your eyes look poped...

in terms of putting eyeshadows, you can have earth colors such as dark brown, beige or bronze....

if you put too much light eyeshadows, you would look awkward....

hope that i could see your face contour so that i could really help you....
almay makes this GREAT eye set for different colored eyes. i LOVE it. it makes my blue eyes stand out and just look really nice. it's 3 separate things to buy. blue mascara. brown eyeliner. and a set of 3 shadows, brown, dark blue, light blue. the instructions r right on the box. however i switched it up a little and played around with it and this is how i think it works best. use black liner and black mascara. also apply brown eye shadow first over eyelid. then blend in dark blue and finish with blending a LITTLE light blue but not too much. ppl always compliment my eyes when i do them like that. good luck! messing around with things worked really well for me!

What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?

I'm just looking for a good color to go with my green eyes. Some colors look horrible and I thought I just see what other people have to say! What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?
Deep toffee colors can look nice, but purple will make your eyes pop. Try a light brown (like a sand color) from crease to brow; cover your lid in a medium purple (about the color of an iris when it blooms), then just in the crease apply a dark purple lightly. Line with a toffee or purple eyeliner (a raisin color would work). And don't forget to curl your lashes, so people can see your peepers! What is a good eyeshadow to go with green eyes?
go whith somthing todaly opeset like brown so peaple see your eyes not your shadow
Faded shades of brown and tan could really make your green eyes stand out if you apply it right. Also if you go to the cosmetics isle most of the time they will have eyeshadow combinations designed just for people w/ green eyes.
    Light brown
Been experimenting with makeup for 20 years, green eyes can pretty much be complimented by any color, just don't go overboard with the colors, but for the most part, if you wear green shadows, your eyes can look more blue and if you wear a blue, your green eyes'll pop!! Basic browns compliment most skin tones and that's probably where your problem lies... try to compliment your skin instead of your eyes and you'll solve your problem... Light skin, stick with browns... dark skin, add the purples and pinks...
I have green eyes and I have found that any shade of burgundy looks good as well as a brown/purple combination. :o)
i wear browns and smokey greys it makes the green stand out
green, brown, cream, beige. just test out a lot of colors. you can samples from Mary Kay consultants. They give you free samples of anything that you wanna try so that you can find the right look.
I have green eyes and think pinks and mauves look nicest a;so light champagne colors.
As an amateur make-up stylist, I use light green and sage or a jade-colored shadow to enhance the eye color and to make it pop, I use a plum-colored shadow in the crease and blended in with the plum/raisin-colored eyeliner I use on the bottom lid.
    try this website.

    Hope it could help you.

have you tried almay's (drug stores) new line of products geared specifically for certain eye colors? they have the coordinating lip stick, liner and shadows... good luck! really i make any color work with good liner and mascara! work it!
I would go with colors in the brown family. Beige, rust, something in between.....
gray and green and purple and brown
    Brown looks awesome
Use a Light color that will help your eyes look open and brighter.

Maybe a peach. Pale green with a silky pearl sheen. Or just a Simple brown, people tell me that because I have green eyes, and red hair, I should use brown eyeshadow, or an off-white. Either way, I hope this helps!

    ~Stephanie~
pinks and light purples always look good.
In the cosmetics department Almay (I think that is the brand ) has a great eyeshadow that complements your eye color- they have one for Blue, brown and green eyes! You get 3 colors in one compact. I have the one for blue eyes.
    Golds,browns and purples

How do you apply eyeshadow like strippers and adult movie stars?

Everytime I try, I can never get it right! I have all kinds of make-up. I recently bought eyeshadow with blacks, silvers and pearly white colors...I've seen a lot of girls do their eyes with those colors...but I can't! Any tips? How do you apply eyeshadow like strippers and adult movie stars?
Using bright colors with a dark color is an awesome way to get that sexy look. You are going to need basically three shades: A cream/white, a dark color/black, and a pop color/yellow or pink. Apply the lightest shade under your eyebrow and the darkest in your crease and the pop color right on the lid. Blend well. Line your eyes on top and bottom and even add false lashes for sexy volume. Finish with a glossy lip and bam HOT MAMA?Stripper?Adult Star? LOLHow do you apply eyeshadow like strippers and adult movie stars?
Try liquid eyeliner, that might give you the look you want. Also try applying a white or other pale shade of eyeshadow first then the color you want over it. It usually makes the color ';pop'; a little more.

You can also try buying lotion that is made to go around your eyes and mixing it with the eyeshadow, making a sort of paste. Be careful not to get it in your eye, and this probably wouldn't be recommended if you think you might sweat it off.
using a liquid liner u can cause a lot of dramatic effects..also use the smokey eye technique. it shard to describe typing so jus check youtube there r some great videos on how to create that look. for eye shadow u can play around and make sure u r smudging/mixing the colors where they meet. i like true colors cause u can make them light dark whateva..also applying them with like a gloss helps them stay longer.
Use the dark color shadow on the lid all the way up to the crease. Then use the lighter color just above the crease or up to the brow bone. Smudge the 2 colors accordingly, watching NOT to smudge the dark color all the way up to the brow bone.
make the crease of your lids extremely dark and wing out ur eyeliner. smug ur under eye eyeliner for that messy sext look
Well first of all no offense but y do u want to look like a stripper? but anyway you use darks and just mess it all up!!!

What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?

I like to use a wet eyeliner brush and apply eyeshadow as a liner, but i want a new shade for fall. i use medium brown or dark brown liner shades. What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?
check out bare minerals liner shadows, the can be used wet or dry, and come in fabulous colors.. regular eye shadows smudge too much. What is the best eyeshadow to use as a liner?
Well..that kind of depends on your eye colour.

I like to use really strong stand-outish colours because I have dark brown eyes and it makes a good contrast. Using them as liners also makes the eyeshadow stand out less than using it for all over lid cover, but it still draws attention.
Stargazer eyeshadow, you can get it from alternative shops (e.g. Affleck's Palace) and cheaper cosmetic shops/market stalls. It comes in a powder but when applied with a wet brush, it comes out great. It's quite sparkly though, so be warned! Then you can also dust it over your eye too :-)
you will be surprised but try the eyeshadow mousse by loreal. they have cute colors and they are already wet textured so I use a very small brush, very thin. It works perfect dont hesitate to try the bright purple. I have light brown eyes and yet a purple line under the eye(very thin!) and a pink line on the edge on the eyelid looks soo pretty!(add a brink fushia pink line on the inner part of the eye) I think it goes well with every eye color. Okay, now for the stunning ! :) what looks awesome especially on brown, or green eyes, is a line of gold . That looks very good, make sure you pick one that doesn't look yellow. And then you can do a brown inner line.
It is depending of you eyebrow and your hair colour.Anyway you can try in black (liquid)-water proof)brand-KATE(Japan)it is very nice.it can make your draw Clean and profession.Apply in green eyeshadow under you eye line, and apply a KATE-black liner too.it will look great!
    Use Stargazer eyeshadow

What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?

I just used up my eyelid primer for eyeshadow. I was wondering if there was anything I could use to prime my eyelids that I would have around the house?

I have liquid concealer, lots of lotion/moisturizers, a cover up stick, and some foundation. I thought those might work. What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?
Use your liquid foundation and set it with pressed powder then apply your eyeshadow. It should last all day without creasing. Also if you have aerosol hairspray you can give your face a quick blast (eyes closed of course) and this will set your makeup (especially useful in hot weather). Happy holidays :)What is the best way to prime your lids for eyeshadow without an actual primer?
i just do it with my concealer when i'm doing the rest of my face.
Foundation topped with a bit of powder will suffice until you get some more eyeshadow primer.
I used to use like a clear lip balm put some on my finger %26amp; use that then put on my eye shadow it works. But I don't wear make up alot any more
mix concealer with foundation and set with powder!

What is the best eyeshadow color for a black and turquoise dress?

I am wearing a black dress with turquoise dots and I am wondering what eyeshadow color will look best if I have very fair skin, hazel eyes, and light brown hair. Thanks for any answers! What is the best eyeshadow color for a black and turquoise dress?
Your shadow should match your complexion, not your dress. Hazel eyes look great in golds, browns, and olive shades. For nighttime, a smoky purple color will bring out the eyes and also look great with your dress. What is the best eyeshadow color for a black and turquoise dress?
    wear black shadows with glliter.
go for earth tones.... neutral colors
Black is out this season-especially the gothic stuff. A more natural look is in. I would wear whatever looked good with my natual coloring and somewhere in there a touch of turquoise. Check out some of those products that are designed to bring out the best in different colored eyes. Light brown absolutely makes green eyes pop but see what works on you. Go get some free makeovers done and see what they come up with for you.
i would suggest just black mascara and eyeliner. never match your outfit with your makeup but sinces there may be a lot going on with your dress design keep the face simple.
do the smokey eyes with black shimmer eyeshadow, then smudge a layer of pale, grey-ish shimmer eyeshadow on it. it'll look stunning.
light blue or emarld brown matters what color r ur eyz
u always want to go with the one that looks more natural to your skin, but black is best
light pink a sort of shiny one but make sure its not REALLY bright pink, just a natural pink
Taupe, gray, violet, purple and deep blue colors go well with blue eyes while black mixed with bright blue color helps to create smoky eyes. For bold funky looks, you can choose silver, turquoise and fuchsia colors. Brown, apricot, purple, plum and forest green colors brighten up green and hazel eyes while you can add a touch of boldness to the face by experimenting with gold, lime-green, very light green and bright purple shades. Copper, bronze, champagne, beige and forest-green looks good on brown eyes while brown eyeshadow helps to create a doe-eyed look. Colors like tangerine, royal blue, hot pink and lime-green add a punch to the personality and are quite favorite with younger generation. The colors that can be used for all eyes are navy or charcoal based shades while powder-blue eyeshadow is great for achieving highlighting effects while the hottest color in the night parties is the silver-sparklehttp://www.facenbodycare.com/Effective_w鈥?/a>
I would do smokey eyes for sure, and if you wanted to have a little pop of color you could add a small bit of turquoise in the outer crease.
try a light carribean blue or turquoise-ish color and use shades of gray and black to make the outter part of your eyes smokey. i think that would look nice =)

How can I prevent eyeshadow from getting messy and coming off?

I usually wear black eyeshadow, or pink, and bright colors.

I use L'oreal Infinite Wear, but it's so crappy!

After an hour or two, it gets all over my eyes and it wears away.

What kind of eyeshadow WORKS?How can I prevent eyeshadow from getting messy and coming off?
Whatever eyeshadow brand you use, it is best to put eyeshadow primer before you apply your eyeshadow. Try urban decay primer potion, too faced shadow insurance or L'oreal decreased eye primer. primer will help your eyeshadow to last longer. hope that helps :)How can I prevent eyeshadow from getting messy and coming off?
It's not about the eye shadow, it's about the base! These are some of the best ones:

    Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance

    Urban Decay Primer Potion

    Mac Paint Pots

Eye shadow bases keep the colours on your lid for longer, keep them from creasing, and make the pigment show up even more.
Try using M.A.C eyeshadows..they do work for me..But no matter what kind of eyeshadow you should always use an eyeshadow primer..It prevents creasing..falling and wearing off..

Go to icings by clairs. I cant remeber what I got but they have black and tons of bright colors and it stays on really well! Try it out. ;]
use a primer. most eyeshadows wont stay on their own they need a base..like concealor or a primer to help them. they might fade but loreal de-crease keeps them from fading!
    use cheezburgers.
    use primer.

I agree with the black. Black looks good with almost every eye color. If you want to go a little nutty, you can try some blue or green maybe...Maybe even some orange-ish color. My best advice would be to...go and get one of those cheap pallates that have a bunch of colors and just play until you find shades that you like. Try it with different colors of eyeliner and mascara...don't be afraid to get crazy, the only one who will see it is you and you might find something that you like. That's what I did! Have you tried going on the virtual makeup sites. Mary kay products have them also with color suggestion. It also depends on the trend your going for.
i think black with shimmer is good for ur eyes color and almost for every eyes color.
browns? smoky browns? natural looks with minerals, etc. I like www.christinacosmetics.com
i am an make up expert and the colours that will suit you are the colours oposite ur eye colour on the colour wheel. this is purple and blue eyeshadow. it might seem strange, but in case you havent noticed, celebritys with amber eyes always look good in those colours, and tanned olive skin looks good in indigo. if you want to play it safe, trygold, bronze and/or black liner. this willl give you feline eyes....very hot!
usually the color of eyeshadow depends on the color of your clothes.
    mossy green e/s!
    purple or green.

hopefully you didn't use any liquid until you picked up most of the eyeshadow (use the vacuum attachment so that you don't grind it into the carpet).

If it's a dry stain you can cover it with baking soda (the shadow will bond with the baking soda), vacuum it up once again.

If the stain still remains use a degreaser solution to dab up the rest (use white towels, one for getting the carpet wet, and a dry one to absorb the liquid and dye in the carpet). Repeat until it's all up. ***Use cold water if mixing a solution***

What color eyeliner and eyeshadow goes best with greenish/brown eyes?

I have green eyes, but on the inside and outside there is a noticeable amount of brown. My skin is very pale, so black eyeliner is a little too much. What color eyeliner and eyeshadow goes best with greenish/brown eyes?
I have green eyes and pale skin. I have flecks of gold through mine. I love a magenta/purple color. It makes the green really pop. I have also heard that dark browns and steely grays work for green eyes. Not so much for me. Experiment!

Good luck!!What color eyeliner and eyeshadow goes best with greenish/brown eyes?
Hey! I have the similar eye colour to yours, it's funny sometimes they look really green, and other times they look really brown depending on what I wear...

I usually use brown eyeshadow as eyeliner because it's not as dramatic... i use brown eyeliner too sometimes if im going out. I light pink eyeshadow. Believe it or not it looks pretty good if it is shimmery, and really well blended, it makes your eyes look more brown if you use pink and brown together. It makes my eyes look more green if i stay away from the brown eyeliner, and just use mascara and some olive green eyeshadow. I don't do that as often, since my main eye colour is brown. I like the look of a little brown eyeshadow for liner, and then some pink eyeshadow and a lot of mascara myself.

    good luck!

    xo!
i like the effect black has with pale skin.....but if you don't want it, try this....

What are the prettiest eyeshadow colors for brown eyes?

I have brown eyes and can't ever seem to find colors that look pretty for brown eyes! What are the prettiest eyeshadow colors for brown eyes?
Metallic colors are really ';in'; this season. Line your eyes with a gold or bronze liner and sweep soft brown over your lid for a gorgeous everyday look. If you wanna go for an evening look, line your eyes with a sparkly silver color and on your lid, you can go from anything like soft pinks, soft, sprakly greens, and even light blues. The main thing with brown eyes is that you have to make sure not to overdo anything, because it'll make you look trashy. Another great color is plum. Try sweeping plum eyeshadow over the base of your lid. Not the whole lid, but just the area where your lashes are growing.

When using greens, blues, and purples, you must make sure to be very sparse to avoid looking $lutty. Less is more. Also, if you're going to use metallics, better to use them with pastel colors without sparkle in them. Never sweep metallic colors all over your lid--just as a liner or if you are really daring, just a bit above where your lashes are growing.

Good luck!!What are the prettiest eyeshadow colors for brown eyes?
I think brown and gold is best for brown eyes
If your looking for daytime make-up always, always use tanned browns with a pastel peach above near the eyebrow for a night on the town i strongly suggest a glitter gold with a natural skin tone near the eyebrow or a shimmer lilac with baby pink near the eyebrow.

We are lucky to have brown eyes because black eyeliner always gives you tiger eyes so dont forget to put eyeliner on and you only need 1 coating of mascara, we suit all blushers and nude lipstick with a touch of vasaline makes your lips ready AND SOFT to kiss.
i vote for the mary kay spun silk for a nice enhancer/ natural.

there are tons of great colors. go for a consultation and try some at the different counters at your dpepartment stores. wear them in different lighting and then decide.
for brown eyes use purples, golds, grey n silver! they will make your eyes pop!
I'm not sure, but there are eyeshadow trios by almay made for your eye color...in any drugstore!
I have brown eyes too. I normally wear purples, browns, gold %26amp; blue. But u can also try greens %26amp; pinks. All these will look really nice against ur eyes. The blues, especially, will give ur eye a stronger look- grabbing more attention- in the right way!
I think you should try Mary Kay Spun Silk, Hazelnut %26amp; Jade for a lovely romantic look or MK Moonstone, Gold Leaf %26amp; Safari Sunset. This is a very fresh and natural look. you can see these and more on this website www.marykay.com/mguzzetta

You can virtually try on all shades and get instructions on how to apply the color for a flawless look.
any warm and natural color would look nice. try some golds and melon tones. i personally like when people with brown eyes wear a honey colored eyeshadow. it also depends on your hair color. if you have brown or black hair you can pull off any color eye shadow but if you have blonde orange red than i would stick to the melons and golds.
look for browns or light browns and some sparkles to tone up Ur eyes if your going out to a party try pinks trust me i have brown eyes too (u might want some greens as well)
I have brown eyes too. I use purples, greens, and golds. I'm not saying to go back to 1980 with crazy green and blue, but a little green/gold really will make your eyes pop! Oh, and when you do your make-up, select one feature to pop, it really looks great if your face is toned down but your eyes 'pop'. Hope I was helpful.
    Silver looks stunning!!
If you have honey coloured or dark skin, silver/ whitish is best because it brightens your eyes.. It looks nice on all skin colours mind you. Try a liquid eyeliner and mascara to accentuate your eyes!
Silver or grey look lovely on brown eyes...kind of makes them pop out....also, silver and grey are massive this season.
I have brown eyes, and a very very light purple, or a light brown looks best on me, I wouldn't go very dark though! Good luck!
Brown eyes are the prettiest, so you don't need to worry, you lucky thang you!
    rich browns and pinks.
well i am dark skinned and i love golds, bronzes, deep browns and pinks. but you should go to a makeup counter and get a consultation.

  • What is the best eyeshadow for my skin tone?

I want to change my style for my senior year in high school, so I need some new make-up tips. I really don't want foundation and all just eyeshadow. Also explain the steps to make my eyes pop out, because I have almond shape eyes, and where can I get the supplies for cheap? What is the best eyeshadow for my skin tone?
well, what is your skin tone? another thing to consider is the color of your eyes. i believe EVERYBODY looks good in bronzed tones and gold tones whether you'd be fair or dark. the best thing for application of any eyeshadows is the way you apply it and the tools you use. a great way to apply any color sequence is. 1. use a light color on your whole eye area up to your brow bone (which if you feel your eyes is the hard bone that sits above your lid). 2. use your main color that is a more saturated color than your first and just apply it on your lid. for more color dip the brush in water and pat pat pat it on your lid...like thumper from bambi. 3. use a darker color in the crease of your eyelid for depth. (a good way to do that is to look up. where there is a crease put the brush with the color and do a windshield wiper motion from the middle of the crease to the outer corner of your eye) 4. use a much lighter, close to your skintone, just under your eyebrow and in the inner corner of your eye for brightening. 5. using the same brush, cleaned of corse, blend all of the colors so there aren't any harsh lines, in a circular motion.

    things you need:

    1. a good stiff domed eyeshadow brush

    2. a great place to start for the quad colors is a quad color from the drugstores. a good cash for color priced quad color compact would definitely be from covergirl.

    3. eye makeup remover.

What is a good makeup look for just mascara and eyeshadow?

Okay, my problem is whenever I wear eyeliner I look gothic or like a raccoon. So, I decided I just want to stick with mascara and eyeshadow. Can someone tell me a good makeup look i can do based on my description.

well i would wear some earth tones, for a more natural look besides gives an extra expression to blue-hazel eyes, try some orange tone shadows also the problem may not be the eyeliner but how you wear it try to used a brown one and not to do a thick line but a thin fine one.

Also try some coral or pink tones for lipstick and the make-up try one that most looks like your color skin for best results

    Good luck and have fun!!

you need to use a base for your foundation and an eye base. Try using liquid liner because it makes smaller lines and doesn't smudge as much. You also shouldn't where jet black eye make up. With your looks you need brown or grey eyeliner and more muted shadow colors like lilac purples or dusty greens.

What's the best eyeshadow color to match my blue mascara?

Colored mascara is the rage right now in my place and I thought I'd try some when I go out with some friends tomorrow night. But I'm having trouble with my eyeshadows. They just don't look right with my new mascara. I don't wanna look funny or anything. Should I stick with the classic black mascara and ditch the colored ones? What's the best eyeshadow color to match my blue mascara?
Have you tried white eyeshadow? Its awesome. You wouldn't think so but it is. Black is hot too. Makes me wanna buy some funky mascara ;o)What's the best eyeshadow color to match my blue mascara?
I tend to put on black masacara and do pink frosted tips. But if you want all blue lashes go for blue eyshadow with different shades. it sounds obvious but any other colours would be a bit rainbowish. match the eyshadow exactly or do black shadow black mascara and blue tips. xx
did you try a darkish blue? that usually works, and maybes its just the brand your using that isnt right for you, try some different brands and if you still dont like them go back to the cliassic black.
    I'd go with classic black they tend to look better, however copper colored eyeshadow with blue mascara would look quite interesting because the copper would make the blue ';pop';
Maybe a shade of blue or purple...ooohhh what if you did blue and then higher to the top of your eye you used a tint of purple that would looke pretty sweet!
Try a brown or bronzey color.

    Or a pale shimmery color.
I think if you wanna go with the blue mascara where a silver eyeshadow and blend a small amount of blue in the crease of your eyelids.

    x
    try silver,white,black, or navy
I would have to say teal. It makes the eye pop and it looks very cute in the spring
green all day long! They say blue and green should never be seen , but they are wrong!!!

How to use cream eyeshadow properly?

I just got this beautiful pink sparkly cream eyeshadow, which goes on great, but after about ten-fifteen minutes of wear it starts to crease and smudge. How can I keep it looking awesome all day long? How to use cream eyeshadow properly?
i would put some powder on your eyelids and then some eyeshadow for the cream to stick to and it will last longerHow to use cream eyeshadow properly?
unfortunately there is nothing that you can do about it. having shadow in my creases is a major pet peeve for me. I tried using Avon cream shadow in the tubes once and found that if I applied their tube cream shadow before my eye shadow, the shadow will last all day. Also make sure that you wash your face before you apply eye shadow to make sure that you remove excess oil. Good Luck!
you take it and throw it in the trash. its crap, it runs on hot days and leaves creases.

if you looking for a lot of coverage use just a tiny bit of foundation on your lids then add powder. it will allow you to use less powder to get great color coverage.
definately put some foundation powder on ur leads but first make sure you wipe off all the oil..also use ur finger to apply the eyeshadow and make sure is not too much....

What are the best eyeshadow colours for Hazel eyes?

I have heard gold/copper is a good colour but it looks freakish on me (well, I think so at least!) I have very light skin and medium brown hair. I use a brown or plum coloured eyeliner so any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks girls! What are the best eyeshadow colours for Hazel eyes?
Soft light, shimmery pink, or a mid tone silver would be nice, and perfect for the holidays. Purple will also bring out the green in hazel eyes. What are the best eyeshadow colours for Hazel eyes?
I would probably use a copper or a brown to bring out the color in your eyes. But of course i have blue eyes! =D
I have hazel eyes and I use pink to bring out the green and a darker brown to bring out the brown. Purples will emphasize both the green and the brown. Its just about finding the exact shade of those colors that will look the best on you.
neutrals- beige/tan/browns......plum/mauve- purple range would look great too! since you have light skin, cooler tones (blues/purples/silvers) would look better than warm tones (golds/reds/pinks etc). i

brush the lid with the darker shade...and highlight the brow bone with a lighter shade- light mauve or cream, and dust a bit of shimmer on the inner ducts to make your eyes look wider. put on clear mascara to keep it simple, or for a more glam look....put on brown or dark purple (whatever dark color you're wearing on your lids) eyeliner, and lots of volumizing mascara- i like volume exact by covergirl. you can also line the bottom of your eyes with kohl/pencil eyeliner for an exotic look.
I have hazelish greenish eyes, I dont really wear a lot of make up but when I do I usually go with light colors like peach, light green, goldish-yellowish and other colors like those.
before using a eyeshadow, decide what colour you want to bring out in your eyes. because u have hazel eyes brown or green will probably suit you the most. If you want to emphasize the brown use a medium brown, and if you want green to stand out use a shimmery medium green.

be careful with dark eyeshadow on fair skin, because when applied incorrectly it can look like you have 2 bruises on your eyelids.
i have hazel eyes also, and i use a bronze-y color, kind of a darker brown and do a really light coat

    it looks really good!

and i agree, gold does look freakish... i made the mistake of buying a $22 gold eyeshadow once, and it was awful

    go for the dark bronze!
That depends if your hazel is more brown or more green.

I have hazel eyes but they are more green than brown. So I use purples, lights greens, sometimes oranges.

For more brown colors - bronzes, gold, brown, beiges, oranges.

Also, using mineral eyeshadow I find makes your eyes really pop.
    green is good. and purple

  • How do you get eyeshadow to actually stay on all day without creasing on the eyelid?

So, I really like Revelon's eyeshadow. It says it's suppose to stay on for like 8 hours. Then, I got a stick of Revelon cover up stuff that's kinda liquidish, and that's suppose to stay on for 16 hours. Um. It still creases!!!!!! So, what method works best? Please, every and anything welcome! How do you get eyeshadow to actually stay on all day without creasing on the eyelid?

eyeshadow primer by urban decay at sephora

    $17
Apply it lightly each coat. Don't stretch the skin. Stick with powders.

Moisturizer first adds a great base.
Use a base and put translucent powder over the eyeshadow but not to much. a base can be cream or liquid, which ever is bettert for your skin type. oh and moisturize the eyes. thats really important
makeup base...and i heard that a little hairspray works too.

but if you really want it to stay longer, get urban decay eyeshadow from shephora.
Put on some concealer on your lid before you apply the eyeshadow. This will help hold the eyeshadow all day.
You really just need to find a good brand of makeup and make sure you dont apply too much.

A good base coat, tan and very little color is good to start with, then use the color that you want. You need to apply only a thin a layer. If it is a good shadow then a thin layer will show the true shade and will stay all day. The more layers and the more product you add to your face the more it will crease, crack and crumble.

If you want help with good base coat colors, feel free to go to my website below and click on contact me, I can show you the colors in my makeup and then you can use that and purchase or use your own.
I totally feel your pain!!! Urban Decay Eyeshadow ';potion'; I believe it's called. It's a little pricy, but I've tried a few, and this is GREAT!!! Just remember to apply and then pat it in (try not to rub), then put on your eyeshadow. Try it!!! I will swear by it.
go to a makeup stand in the mall and ask
I like the revlon products too. Nothing is fool proof. The eyelid is sensitive so prepare for touch ups

How Do I apply eyeshadow without it smudging or getting on my lashes?

Its always difficult for me.How Do I apply eyeshadow without it smudging or getting on my lashes?
You need a good brush meant for applying eyeshadow..dip the small brush into the shadow and then just put it on your entire lid..are you using like a liquid shadow? That does get in your lashes easily..but for me regular eyeshadow doesn't get in my lashes..if this doesn't help then you can always put on dark mascara and then you won't notice the eyeshadow=)How Do I apply eyeshadow without it smudging or getting on my lashes?
Apply a base to your eyelid before adding color. You should be applying the eyeshadow before you add mascara. Make sure you blend the color in with a good brush. Are you using cheap eyeshadow? If so, you may want to upgrade a bit.
I know meeh too! I had the same problem until i was watching this tyra show about applying cosmetics and apperantly the best thing to do is take a piece of tape, close your eyes and tape your eyelashes to your face. How to make my eyeshadow look professionally done?

I have eyeshadow and I know how to put it on and everything, but it just looks to powdery hello-kitty-ish. I want something that looks more like how the celebs wear it, it looks more mature reather than looking bleh. You know what I mean?? LIke model make-up, their eyeshadow looks on and shiny and pretty, but mine looks powdery and kid-ish. What can I do?How to make my eyeshadow look professionally done?
Professional makeup artists use the top quality makeup and tools. You'll want to buy high quality makeup and makeup brushes in order to get the best application. I found out that when I bought a full set of Sephora makeup brushes, not only was it more fun to apply makeup, but the overall look was more polished. For makeup brushes, I would recommend Sephora's Professional Platinum brushes. For makeup, I would recommend Stila, Smashbox, Chanel, Versace, and Laura Mercier.

Although there is no replacement for their experience doing makeup (which is why a pro makeup job looks best), you can practice to improve your technique. Another important aspect of getting professional-looking results is to blend very well. There shouldn't be any obvious lines, and everything should appear to seamlessly blend together. Another important aspect is choosing the right colors for your complexion that will complement your skintone, eyecolor, and work well with your haircolor.

How to make my eyeshadow look professionally done?
The first task is finding an eye shadow that matched your skin tone. Go to the makeup counter at the store and they will gladly help you with that!

Then you need to find 3 shades of the same color. Sometimes different companies will sell them all in one compact. Try looking for Covergirl and Maybelline.

Then for the lightest tone, apply to your brow bone (right under your eyebrow) but not too much, and try to blend it in a little. Then for the nuetral shade apply that to your whole eyelid. And finally for the darkest shade apply directly above your eyelid, not too much though. Just a thin line of the darkest color will work great!

Then what I do personally, is put on some liquid liner, and blend in the outer corners with some black eyeshadow.

    You'll look great!

    Good luck!
If you live in a decent size city or town try and see if you have a make-up counter in the mall called Mac. If not go to any trendy make-up counter as them how they would put on your make-up and they will show you how to look my adult. I personally do half and half on just the eye lid and it looks fabulous.
well first off, you want to get a good quality eyeshadow or two, my favorite combo is MAC's Woodwinked all over the lid and Espresso in the crease for that celeb. look. next is to get a good brush to apply them with, possible a crease brush as well. when you apply the shadows make sure you blend them really well, so that you dont have harsh lines.
well this is how i do it....First put on eye liner but not that cheap pencil kind a good kind. Then put on cream eye shadow and then some sparkles....ANd to top it off put on a lot ofmascaraa.

What color eyeliner and eyeshadow should I use to make my eyes look really pretty?

My eyes are a really dark brown. They look almost black because they are so dark

Also so my boyfriend will look at them and say wow??What color eyeliner and eyeshadow should I use to make my eyes look really pretty?
Soft pink will really bring your eyes out. Keep eyeliner to a minimum - just use it to lightly frame your eyes. Avoid black

Also, dark brown eyes look stunning lined in shades of plum (mix with a pale mauve shadow), aubergine (mix with a shimmery light pink shadow), raisin (mix with a mushroomy soft brown shadow) or charcoal , just remember to combine with a lighter shadow or your eyes may look more dramatic. What color eyeliner and eyeshadow should I use to make my eyes look really pretty?
Hi, I have dark green eyes so I know how hard it can be to work with a dark color. I think you should try to use maybe a light blue, or maybe a you could use a beige or some tones of brown or some greens but be careful because really light light colors like light pink or baby pink may not work too well.
Black liquid eyeliner, eyeshadows : tanish, bronze, beige, silver, grey, black.
i have black eyes too... but you dint mention the tone of your skin... i think black eyeliner and brown mascara should be perfect for you... eyeshadow usually will be cool if it matches your dress but with black i usually like browns and light pinks... light pink makes you look more girlyyyy... browns usually go with all dress colors and for all occassions...
brown eyeliner and teal, silvery eyeshadow. it'll make your eyes stand out wonderfully! also a bit of dark brown mascara and peachy blush
    You'd be surprised.

But dark eyed girls do look good in dark colours.

Try using natural colours such as brown or gold. (I know gold isn't so natural)

Also, don't put it all over your eyes..try doing it just above your lashes so that it shows and excentuates your eyes but doesn't make you look gothic. I do it sometimes with browns and dark blues.

Shiny/shimmery colours such as gold and copper look really nice too. As far as the eyeliner goes...Don't put too much. Put just enough for it to blend in with your eyelashes so that it looks like you have on a bit of mascara.

    It works every time.
black eyeliner and a smokey brown eyeshadow in the crease and a pretty gold on the lid. also use a few coats of black mascara. it would look great.
eyeliner- black or black/brown on top and bottom

eyeshadow- cocoa for your browbone and a pastel pink for your eyelids and around your eyeliner.

Also try a baby blue eye color to accent your eyes- in the crease of your eyelid.

It takes practice, and with the proper techniques you should be great. You apply eye shadow with many types of brushes, go to youtube and look up ';makeup tutorials'; they hold all your answers. How do you make eyeshadow look cute?
    You either apply with this:

    http://www.planetbeauty.com/brands/Illum鈥?/a>

    How to apply:

You can't really learn to apply it by pictures. So this is what I do, with a clean fresh brush I put the eyeshadow on with gentle wavy strokes on my eyelid. I make sure it is all going in the right place and if it goes out a little I just wipe it either with my finger if it is a powder eyeshadow but a wipe if it is liquid. Though, if you just play around you should be able to find your own perfect way on how to apply it.

    you can compare
    Depends on your hair color.

Dark eyes go well with almost anthing not too vibrant.
try a voilet color eyeshadow, like the almay brown eye eyeshadows they offer

    you could even try white
plum is a great color for brown eyes - you could even experiment with a really dark eggplant color
I think a pink color would look good. Not really light pink tho. Or a somewhat deep golden brown. I think those would be your best colors.
Lavender is very pretty with brown eyes.
Try a purpleish color...I have the exact same skin color, and brown eyes, too. I tried purples; a dark purple, a med. purple, and even a lilacy color - i liked the lilacy color, but experiment with them - test them and see what you like!!
light brown or navy blue work well

almost a bronze color would work well also
gold violet pink those would look really good on u luv u lol
try light brown purple or green ......those are the best color for wat ur looking for..... good luck. all the girls in my family have brown eyes and medium skin
You can go to Mary Kay web site and there is a part on the site where you can play around with make-up and what is best for your eyes and tone color of your face
Go for a soft burnt orange color

A friend of mine has the same eye and skin tone and looks great in bronzed/rusty colors.
i would say a light blue or silver! those are my fav. I also have dark brown eyes and light to medium colored skin tone, they work great for me.
    Black
you should probably use dark oranges. it would be good. or you should just use greens actually. greens are good colors for girls with brown hair.
I would try a light warm blue or a warm orange.

What are the best eyeshadow colours to use when you have blue eyes?

My eyes are kind of a dark smokey blue. And my eyes are quite small but I've been told they are pretty :) So what colours do you think would suit me? I'm going to a party tonight and wearing a kind of magenta dress and I was going to do bright purpley pink eyeshadow. Will that look good? Thanks :)What are the best eyeshadow colours to use when you have blue eyes?
a smokey eye look, with slate grey... pearly-ish white, and a smoky black. just blend it into a smokey eye and that should make small blue eyes look a little bigger and give your color a popWhat are the best eyeshadow colours to use when you have blue eyes?
    I have your colour eyes.

What i suggest if, don't wear ANYTHING dark

especially if you have small eyes, it will just make them look smaller.

The purpley pink could work, but maybe you should try giving it some definition, and apply it lightly because too much colour could actually distract from your pretty eyes!

I tend to wear, gold, lilac, pale shimmery blue, green and very light pink.

All of those tend to bring out the colours.

A lot of people say brown, but i find that actually makes my eyes look smaller and indented or something. You should just stay away from dark colours with dark blue eyes. Dark brown can wear dark but blue should go light and shimmery.

The lightness and the shimmer should make your eyes look bigger.

    :)

    hope i helped.
Shades in the brown, rose and violet families are best. The warm hue of these shades contrasts with the cold tone of your blues to really make them pop. Use a shade that is darker in tone than your eye color to make your baby blues shine
I think that'd look cute cause it'd match with the dress and bring out your eyes. So that'd totally look cute, and for other occasions, browns and golds are the best for blue eyes.
i wouldn't go for pink/purple eyeshadow, especially with kinda small eyes.

i think slate grey, black, and pearly white are best with blue eyes. and white in the corners makes your eyes look much bigger
Dark pinks, oranges and brown look best, because they bring out the blue. Purple can sometimes dull the blue, so it is not really recommended.
light tones naturally go nice with blue eyes. i think purpley pink would look good as long as u keep it soft. Overdoing it might look a little off.

    tc
Well i always read that you should stay away from your own eye colour when using shadow... so pinks and purples would look great! Especially with that dress, sounds really nice! : ) have fun
people with blue eyes can get away with pretty much any color its just a matter of if you can put on make up good or not.
    silver with brown eyeliner...
    golds make your eyes shimmer.
i think a grey silver, or a dark smokey blue.

What is an appropriate lipstick colour to wear with blue eyeshadow?

I am a brunette with brown eyes and medium skin tone. I sometimes wear a dark-ish blue eyeshadow for evening makeup, any suggestions as to what colour lipstick would compliment it?

ThanksWhat is an appropriate lipstick colour to wear with blue eyeshadow?
It usually goes, if you are dramatic with the eyes, you go light on the lips. If you go heavy on the lips, you use a light eye shadow. So a dark blue eyeshadow would probably look best with a very light lip gloss, nothing too bright or stands out too much or else it will make you look sort of like a clown. What is an appropriate lipstick colour to wear with blue eyeshadow?
Don't match your lipstick to complement your eyeshadow!!! You can wear so many colors that complement blue, but it should look good on you, otherwise you will look like a clown!

If you are wearing blue eyeshadow, and it's that noticable that you would match a lipstick, then I would say downplay your lips and do a heavier eye. If you are using just a bit of blue eyeshadow, and otherwise very little eye makeup, you can go with a more dramatic lip color.
peach lipstick if your lips are naturally reddish; none if they are lighter. then swipe on some sheer shimmery gloss ranging in color anywear from a light nude shade to a subdued coral. avoid hot pink. also, if reallyyyy dressing up, try a maroon or dark red. it is sophisticated %26amp; classy, and not tacky at all. veryy pretty.
wear a sheer lip gloss with no colour and a bit of shimmer. When you wear a strong color like blue on the eyes it's best to dim down other features so just your eyes stand out. I know with blue eyeshadow it's easy to accidently look tarty. Especially if you wear red..
a pic would help as I rarely think blue eyeshadow looks good on anyone without blue eyes. And even then it depends on how they are wearing it. but something leaning towards a purple may do well as it would have blue tones in it.
Something light and/or glossy. If you play up one part of your face, in this case your eyes, you want to downplay the other. Maybe glossy peach or light pinkish or bronzey.
Something light and glossy with a hint of color.

The general rule is that you should ';pick'; one area to emphasize...eyes or lips, not Both.

Otherwise it can look trashy and overdone.

    Peace
my suggestion is always whenever you have a dark colour on your eyes your lipstick should be as light/nude as possible...maybe even a tinted gloss in the closest shade to ';nude'; you can get
You don't need to match your lipstick to your eyeshadow. For the summer, wear a gloss or a deep shade of pink lipstick with bluish undertones.
a natural colour, if your have made-up eyes you dont want to look trashy by having too much make-up on, try like a subtle lip gloss instead or lipstick.

    Hope this helps. x
a light pinkish color, or something with coral tones, even a hot pink would look hot if your not sure, just go with clear gloss.
blue eyeshadow is not attractive. Go with earth tones if you must wear eye shadow. It should appear to be a shadow, not paint.
    SOMETHING NUDE.

REALLY CLOSE TO YOUR NATURAL LIP COLOR.

JUST A CLEAR GLOSS IS BEST.

OR EVEN A NUDE PEACH COLOR. JUST A HINT OF PINK.
nothing with color...try a clear/nude gloss or lipstick..you don't want anything to red or pink or dark because you might end up looking like a prostitute.
A shade or two darker than nude or a soft pink
clear gloss...you don't want to look look a clown or a bad eighties flashback :)
    uhhh blue
    red
    red
i would where a light pink shimmer lip gloss
    like pink would look great
    dont wear blue eyeshadow

What are some great eyeshadow colors for a dark skinned girl?

I've never worn eyeshadow before, well I tried and I found myself looking really retarded so I removed it. Maybe it's cause I'm not good at applying it.

Any suggestion for good colors that will match my skin tone (dark brown)What are some great eyeshadow colors for a dark skinned girl?
Light purple, very light orange, or a feint creme/beige. Those work for me when I see them on a beautiful dark skinned woman. If that's really you in your pic I think you are cute enough to stay au naturale on the shadow and maybe just touch up the eyelids (just a tad). I know there are more knowledgable and qualified people than me to advise you. I'm just telling you from this guys point of view what I think is pretty. What are some great eyeshadow colors for a dark skinned girl?
The all time best eyeshadows are from MAC and Urban Decay. You can't go wrong with these two brands. I always use a black for my lower lids, like Perversion by Urban Decay. And then I go lighter in the middle, like Baked by Urban Decay which is a nice gold color. I then use the lightest color on my eyebrow bone to highlight my brows (in Urban Decay Gridlock or Scandal). You should start with Urban Decay's Book of Shadows with 16 shadows....I love this set. Then go on Youtube and find eyeshadow tutorials (QueenofBlending is amazing). They will guide you step by step on how to put it on so that it looks beautiful.

The best colors for dark brown skin:

    black

    gold

    plum

green (I promise...green is really pretty)
I don't know how much of a dark brown skinned girl you are. Don't try black, it's kind of hard to notice I had to put a lot on my friend. I think a light purple would look nice. Just experiment. I personally do not see a picture of you but I have experimented on my friend and she looks great with dark blue and purple and especially gold, not silver because it tends to look a little ashy.

I'd recommend earth colours. You know, browns, greens, blues, etc-

I have a friend that does makeup tutorials, that are like really good,

here channel is http://www.youtube.com/makeupisfunx3 she has tutorials on green-gold colors, etc- she's light skinned, BUT she purposefully does colours that look good on everyone. You have to just find a colour that's good for you.

Colours that I think look good on dark skin is purple, green, browns, oranges, golds, a like a faded silver color, MAYBE, a blue. I say maybe because you probably can't rock all shades of blue.

But yeah, you have to experiment. You can't just say ';colors for dark skinned girl';, because every girl is so different, you have different features, different personality, different colours in clothing you often wear, different shades of dark skin itself...it just depends on the person. You have to find the colour that you think looks good on you, and fits you more, you don't want to look cloned to all people with dark skin, do you? lol...good luck
i would say definitely look for maybelline eyeshadow in antique jade http://www.es.maybelline.com/images/products/thumbNails/360ESU_xl.jpg and also some nice colors like dark greens and golds such as :emerald , down to earth and copper penny from the queen collection by Covergirl http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=queen_1_kit_eye_shadows hope this helps i`m sure it will look great : )
when i do my friends make up (she has a dark skin tone as well)

i like to use gold tones, with black eyeliner, or if you want something more subtle grays and silvers work too.

and if you really want to be bold, a shimmy purple color will look awesome.

and about the applying thing, if you go on covergirl.com they have so many tips, and have live chat that can help you pick out colors, also!

    hope i helped(:
